美国开设计算机项目的学校非常多,不过大家常申的其实就那些,接下来我给大家盘点一下10所最常申的学校,其中有牛校,也有大众女神校,建议大家先收藏~
1、卡内基梅隆大学
排名:专排 1 综排 25
学院简介:与其他大部分学校开设有CS系不同,CMU开设有一个单独的CS学院,足见其专业实力。CMU的CS学院下设7个系,共有接近20个硕士项目。除此之外,在CMU的其他系也有一些跟CS相关的项目开设,比如Electrical and Computer Engineering department 硅谷校区开设的Software Engineering 项目,比如School of Information System and Management下开设的Master of Information System Management等等。

项目介绍:开设在school of computer science下的Computer science department 下的一个职业硕士项目;
学制1-2年;必须修满并通过96个units的课程(大概相当于8门课),通过12个可以自由选修的units的课程,通过一门可选的系统类的课程,通过一门可选的Theoretical Foundations 课程,通过一门可选的人工智能课程,并保持3.0以上的GPA。在正常情况下,项目是不包含科研的,纯上课;系里的research area主要有:Artificial Intelligence, Computer Security, Graphics, Programming Languages, Systems, Theory。

项目介绍:
MCDS (Master of Computational Data Science)设置在CMU School of Computer Science下的Language Technologies Institute下面,是在众多DS项目中更偏CS的项目,分为3个track:
——System Track
——Analytics Track
——Human-Centered Data Science Track (HCDS, 和HCI有关联)
每个track的core courses, elective courses, capstone project有明显区别。此外,该项目有两种修读方式:
Standard Timing — a 16-month degree consisting of study for fall and spring semesters, a summer internship, and fall semester of study. Each semester comprises a minimum of 48 units. This timing is typical for most students. Students graduate in December.
Extended Timing — a 20-month degree consisting of study for fall and spring semesters, a summer internship, and a second year of fall and spring study. Each semester comprises a minimum of 36 units. Students graduate in May.
申请:
这个项目最多的是中国人,占了大约一半,大多来自清华、北大、上交、浙大,其他的还有来自中科大、复旦、北邮、北航。其次是印度人。
这个项目选课自由度比较高,Systems Track方向大多数学生都是本科CS出身,过来后大多选择做infrastructure,毕业后去向主流是Software Engineer. Analytics和HCDS的学生背景相对更多样化,比如Analytics学生本科有CS, 统计,数学的,也有少量学生是文商科的. Analytics Track有超过一半的学生,选择了software engineer. 有一些去做更偏DS的Machine Learning Engineer, 还有一些做Data Analyst, 另外还有一些做FinTech的,比如上一届有人去Two Sigma.
从录取背景上看,Systems会很看重CS的基本功,所以倾向于CS本科学生。Analytics很看重数理统计经验和专业知识。HCDS的话希望学生有information system, design方面的课程。各个track之间转的自由度比较大,从就业上看,各个track也并没有什么严格区分。因为MCDS项目选课很自由,除了必修之外,选修课很自由,所以你完全可以根据自己意向去学习。
CMU开设有众多的计算机硕士项目,几乎所有的硕士项目都是职业硕士的项目。课程学习中,涵盖有大量的projects,课程实用,与工业界联系紧密,十分利于就业。CMU,学霸云集,周围学生的能力和水平都很高,学业压力大,peer pressure大,竞争激烈。当然与之相对应的,校友网络质量也很高。
由于项目开设众多,很多在其他学校只是一个track,但是在CMU,就是一个独立的项目。因此,需要学生根据自己的背景和兴趣,选择要申的项目,总体上来说,虽然每个项目难度略有差异,但是总体难度都很高。
2、斯坦福大学

需要完成45 units的课程,至少要有36units是 graded units, 并且成绩在3.0以上。项目提供的Specialization有:Artificial Intelligence, Biocomputation, Computer and Network Security, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Management and Analytics, Mobile and Internet Computing, Real-World Computing, Software Theory, Systems, Theoretical Computer Science。
在科研方面的核心领域有:人工智能;Database research, general purpose network analysis and graph mining;Theory;Computer Graphics / Human-Computer Interaction;Computer Systems
无论是专综排,还是地理位置,还是其他方面,都是绝对的女神校。除非大牛学生,否则不建议尝试。CS专排长期与其他几所学校并列第一。
3、杜克大学

有录取委员会(由graduate faculty组成,director of graduate studies 为领导);系的规模比较小,学生数量少,好处是学生和教授之间联系会比较紧密;对转专业相对友好;学校综排非常出色,加上招生又少,所以竞争十分激烈,录取比例15%左右。
4、宾夕法尼亚大学
排名:专排 19 综排 8
项目介绍:
宾大的计算机硕士项目的设置与其他学校不同。分为CIS,MCIT, CGGT,EMBS,Robotics等。前两者是大家申的比较多的。其中MCIT是针对转专业申请者所开设的,同专业申请可以选择CIS。其他几个项目是小方向的项目,如果学生有兴趣可以申。转专业的背景申请CIS,被拒的概率非常大;对计算机图形学和游戏设计感兴趣,可以申CGGT,对嵌入式感兴趣,可以申EMBS,对robotics感兴趣,可以申请Robotics。
CIS的修课要求:
Seven CIS courses ,包括Four Core courses和Three CIS elective courses ;Three CIS or non-CIS elective courses;GPA保持在2.7以上;
主要的研究领域:Intelligent systems,information systems,hardware and software systems,network,theory。
藤校,宾大的工科又一直很强,申请难度自然居高不下。项目分得很细,MCIT专门针对零背景的转专业申请者开设,热度尤其高。看重硬件背景。
5、加州大学圣地亚哥分校

UCSD MS项目,需修满40个学分,1.5年修完,提供三种修习方式:
M.S. Plan I - Thesis

(1) Thesis:需要参加一个科研项目,写毕业论文,答辩通过后毕业,适合以后申PhD

UC系统CS专业仅次于UCB和UCLA,课程实用性很强,绝大多数学生目标是就业。每年超出4000个申请者,录取率不足10%,但相对来讲,是TOP20的学校中录取人数相对较多的选择。
6、南加州大学
项目名称:Master of Science in Computer Science

项目介绍:
开设在工程学院的CS系下;
有general的MSCS,也有不同的specialization:Data Science,Game Development,Computer Security,Computer Networks,Software Engineering,Intelligent Robotics,Multimedia and Creative Technologies,High Performance Computing and Simulation。对于转专业背景的申请者,可以选择我们常说的37学分的track。1968年成立;注重国际化;USC从2016年开始把许多课程从三个学分改成了四个学分。37学分的track要求必须上一门Java课,其他要求选的课,如OS,算法,数据库之类的基本上也都是学CS必选的课,因此,除了学分多之外,也没太大差别。课程很实用,跟工业界联系紧密,很多课程项目都可以写在简历上;学费基本上一学分就是1万人民币,生活费加学费差不多50-60万,加州的生活费相对要贵一些。有超过40名research faculty。每年在发录取之前,学校都会要求学生提前提供资金证明。

7、加州大学欧文分校

项目介绍:
开在school of information& computer science下的CS系,除了CS系,还有informatics 和统计系;
Each student must complete at least 47 units of course work with an average GPA of at least 3.5 for Ph.D. students and 3.0 for M.S. Students。
从2017fall开始推出了MCS的professional的master的项目,学制4quarter;
11 courses (44 units) to be completed in four quarters. Coursework includes 5 core courses, including 2 capstones, 6 elective courses and a one-quarter optional internship component. MCS的课程大部分是在晚上。按照之前的录取数据分析,该项目对转专业算是比较友好的,但是从18fall的数据来看,友好程度在下降。

加州系统的学校的CS项目的申请难度都要比同档次的其他地方的项目难度要高一个等级,在加州系统的学校里,加州大学欧文分校算是难度适中的项目了。当然,这只是相对于Berkeley,UCLA,UCSD这种级别的学校来说。其申请难度对于大部分申请者来说,依旧是很难的。虽然排名不及南加大,但是学校位于富人区,安全指数是很高的。
8、纽约大学

NYU数学研究院下的项目,AI和system是强项;对转专业友好;
共要求12门课程:

纽约大学的CS项目有两个,一个是在数学研究院下,一个是在工程学院下,前者比后者的申请难度要大。两个项目对强CS背景的转专业申请者都算比较友好。
9、普度大学

项目介绍:
看重对object-oriented programming,systems programming和data structures and algorithms等知识的掌握,看重对计算机结构,数学课程等的掌握;大部分是同专业申请者,但是也接受转专业申请。MS项目分thesis和non thesis,如果选择thesis的option,就需要上8门三个学分的课程,如果选择non thesis,就需要上10门。录取的学生大多专业GPA在3.5以上。在读研究生345个。建议GPA3.5+,IBT 100+

10、西北大学

开在工程学院的EECS系下的Computer science division 下。
有thesis,project和course三个option;
课程要求:At least 12 units of graduate study are required for the MS degree. Typically, one unit of credit corresponds to a one-quarter course. With the exception of EECS 590, all courses must be taken for a grade. Every MS student is required to take at least three relevant courses at the 400 level.
